Philem Vv 8 9 I Rather Urge You Out Of Love

Philem Vv 8 9 I Rather Urge You Out Of Love
(Philem, vv. 8-9) I rather urge you out of love Therefore, although I have the full right in Christ to order you to do what is proper, I rather urge you out of love, being as I am, Paul, an old man, and now also a prisoner for Christ Jesus.(CCC 1738) Freedom is exercised in relationships between human beings. Every human person, created in the image of God, has the natural right to be recognized as a free and responsible being. All owe to each other this duty of respect. The right to the exercise of freedom, especially in moral and religious matters, is an inalienable requirement of the dignity of the human person. This right must be recognized and protected by civil authority within the limits of the common good and public order (Cf. DH 2 SS 7). (CCC 1710) "Christ... makes man fully manifest to man himself and brings to light his exalted vocation" (GS 22 SS 1). (CCC 1711) Endowed with a spiritual soul, with intellect and with free will, the human person is from his very conception ordered to God and destined for eternal beatitude. He pursues his perfection in "seeking and loving what is true and good" (GS 15 SS 2). (CCC 1712) In man, true freedom is an "outstanding manifestation of the divine image" (GS 17). (CCC 1713) Man is obliged to follow the moral law, which urges him "to do what is good and avoid what is evil" (cf. GS 16). This law makes itself heard in his conscience.

What Neopagan Druids Believe
(c) 1984 P. E. I. Bonewits
Reprinted from "The Druids' Progress" #1

Here's a brief introduction to the basic beliefs that I expect
will characterize most members of ADF (a Neopagan Druid organiza-
tion
). These spiritual beliefs are similar to most of those held
by other Neopagans (see Margot Adler's book, "Drawing Down the
Moon"
) and the similarities are far more important than whatever
specific distinctions of doctrine or ethnic focus there might be
between us and other Neopagans. I should also mention that not
all Neopagans who consider themselves Druids will necessarily
agree with every point of the following list. Nonetheless, these
beliefs will be the roots of ADF's polytheology, the source of
the spiritual grove we seek to plant.

1) We believe that divinity is both immanent (internal) and
transcendent (external). We see the Gods as being able to mani-
fest at any point in space or time, including within human
beings, which they might choose, although they may often have
their preferences. Often this develops among some Neopagans into
pantheism ("the physical world is divine") or panentheism ("the
Gods are everywhere"
). We tend more towards the latter position.
2) We believe that divinity is as likely to manifest in a
female form as it is in a male form, and that therefore women and
men are spiritually equal. We insist on a dynamic balance between
female and male deities honored and/or invoked at every ceremony,
and a strict gender balance in whatever theories of polytheology
that we eventually develop. We're "liberals" about women's rights
and gay rights, but not "radicals;" that is to say, we're unwill-
ing to subordinate all our other principles in order to promote
this particular principle. People who wish to make feminism or
gay activism the absolute center of all their spiritual activity
will probably be happier in other groups.
3) We believe in a multiplicity of gods and goddesses, all of
whom are likely to be worthy of respect, love and worship. Some-
times we believe in these divinities as individual and inde-
pendent entities; sometimes as Jungian "archetypes of the collec-
tive unconscious
" or "circuits in the psychic Switchboard;" some-
times as aspects or faces of one or two major deities (the "High
God/dess
" and/or "the Goddess and the Horned God"
); and sometimes
as "all of the above!" We feel that this sort of flexibility
leads to pluralism (instead of monism), multi-valued logic sys-
tems and an increased tolerance of other people's beliefs and
lifestyles. All of these are vital if our species is ever going
to learn to live in peace and harmony amid a multiplicity of
human cultures.
4) We believe that it is necessary to have a respect and love
for Nature as divine in her own right, and to accept ourselves as
a part of Nature and not as her "rulers." We tend to accept what
has come to be known as "the Gaia hypothesis," that the biosphere
of our planet is a living being, who is due all the love and
support that we, her children, can give her. This is especially
important in our modern era, when 3000 years of monotheistic
belief that "mankind is to have dominion over the Earth" have
come close to destroying the ability of the biosphere to maintain
itself. Many Neopagan groups refer to themselves as "Earth reli-
gions
" and this is a title which we believe Neopagan Druidism
should proudly claim, and which we should work to earn. Thus we
consider ecological awareness and activism to be sacred duties.
If the ecology, conservation and anti-nuclear movements are ever
to have "chaplains," we should be among them.
5) We believe in accepting the positive aspects of western
science and technology, but in maintaining an attitude of wari-
ness towards their supposed ethical neutrality. The overwhelming
majority of Neopagans are technophiles, not technophobes. We tend
to be better scientifically educated than the general population,
and thus we have a religious duty to speak out about the econo-
mic, political and ecological uses and abuses of science and
technology.
6) We share with most other Neopagans a distaste for monolith-
ic religious organizations and would-be messiahs and gurus. Ob-
viously, this places the founders of Neopagan religious tradi-
tions in a complex position: they need enough religious authority
to focus the organizations they're founding, but not so much as
to allow them (or their successors) to become oppressive. Since
the pluralistic approach denies the existence of any One True
Right and Only Way, and since Neopagans insist upon their own
human fallibility, we expect to be able to steer ADF between the
Scylla of tyranny and the Charybdis of anarchy.
7) In keeping with this, we believe that healthy religions
should have a minimum amount of dogma and a maximum amount of
eclectism and flexibility. Neopagans tend to be reluctant to
accept any idea without personally investigating both its practi-
cality and its long-range consequences. They are also likely to
take useful ideas from almost any source that doesn't run too
fast to get away. We intend ADF to be a "reconstructionist"
tradition of Druidism, but we know that eventually concepts from
nonDruidic sources will be grafted on to our trees. There's no
harm in this, as long as we stay aware of what we are doing at
every step of the way, and make a legitimate effort to find
authentic (and therefore spiritually and esthetically congruent)
parallels in genuine Indo-European sources first. As for flexi-
bility, Neopagan Druidism is an organic religion, and like all
other organisms it can be expected to grow, change and produce
offshoots as the years go by.
8) We believe that ethics and morality should be based upon
joy, self-love and respect; the avoidance of actual harm to
others; and the increase of public benefit. We try to balance out
people's needs for personal autonomy and growth, with the neces-
sity of paying attention to the impact of each individual's
actions on the lives and welfare of others. The commonest Neo-
pagan ethical expression is "If it doesn't hurt anyone, do what
you like.
" Most Neopagans believe in some variant or another of
the principle of karma, and state that the results of their
actions will always return to them. It's difficult for ordinary
humans to successfully commit "offenses against the Gods," short
of major crimes such as ecocide or genocide, and our deities are
perfectly capable of defending their own honor without any help
from mortal busybodies. We see the traditional monotheistic con-
cepts of sin, guilt and divine retribution for thought-crimes as
sad misunderstandings of natural growth experiences.
9) We believe that human beings were meant to lead lives
filled with joy, love, pleasure, beauty and humor. Most Neopagans
are fond of food, drink, music, sex and bad puns, and consider
all of these (except possibly the puns) to be sacraments. Al-
though the ancient Druids appear to have had ascetics within
their ranks, they also had a sensualist tradition, and the common
folk have always preferred the latter. Neopagan Druids try to
keep these two approaches in balance and harmony with each other
by avoiding dualistic extremes. But the bedrock question is, "If
your religion doesn't enable you to enjoy life more, why bother?"
10) We believe that with proper training, art, discipline and
intent, human minds and hearts are fully capable of performing
most of the magic and miracles they are ever likely to need.
This is done through the use of what we perceive as natural,
divinely granted psychic powers. As with many other Neopagan
traditions, the conscious practice of magic is a central part of
most of our religious rituals. Unlike monotheists, we see no
clearcut division between magic and prayer. Neither, however, do
we assume an automatic connection between a person's ability to
perform "miracles" and either (a) their personal spirituality or
(b) the accuracy of their poly/theological opinions.
11) We believe in the importance of celebrating the solar,
lunar and other cycles of our lives. Because we see ourselves as
a part of Nature, and because we know that repeating patterns can
give meaning to our lives, we pay special attention to astronomi-
cal and biological cycles. By consciously observing the sol-
stices, equinoxes and the points in between, as well as the
phases of the moon, we are not only aligning ourselves with the
movements and energy patterns of the external world, but we are
also continuing customs that reach back to the original Indo-
European peoples and beyond. These customs are human universals,
as are the various ceremonies known as "rites of passage" --
celebrations of birth, puberty, personal dedication to a given
deity or group, marriage, ordination, death, etc. Together these
various sorts of observations help us to find ourselves in space
and time -- past, present and future.
12) We believe that people have the ability to solve their
current problems, both personal and public, and to create a
better world. Hunger, poverty, war and disease are not necessary,
nor inevitable. Pain, depression, lack of creative opportunity
and mutual oppression are not necessary either. What is necessary
is a new spiritual consciousness in which short-sighted greed,
power-mongering and violence are seen as absurd, rather than
noble. This utopian vision, tempered with common sense, leads us
to a strong commitment to personal and global growth, evolution
and balance.
13) We believe that people can progress far towards achieving
growth, evolution and balance through the carefully planned
alteration of their "normal" states of consciousness. Neopagans
use both ancient and modern methods of aiding concentration,
meditation, reprogramming and ecstasy. We seek to avoid being
locked into single-valued, monistic "tunnel realities," and in-
stead work on being able to switch worldviews according to their
appropriateness for each given situation, while still maintaining
a firm spiritual, ethical and practical grounding.
14) We believe that human interdependence implies community
service. Neopagan Druids are encouraged to use their talents to
help others, both inside and outside of the Neopagan community.
Some of us are active in political, social, ecological and chari-
table organizations, while others prefer to work for the public
good primarily through spiritual means (and many of us do both).
As Neopagan Druids we have the right and the obligation to
actively oppose (physically and spiritually) those forces which
would kill our planet, oppress our fellow human beings, and
destroy our freedom of religion. Also, however, we have a con-
stant need to evaluate our own methods and motives, and to make
sure that our actions are coming from the depths of our spiritual
beings, and not from petty or short-sighted desires for power.
15) We believe that if we are to achieve any of our goals, we
must practice what we preach. Neopagan Druidism should be a way
of life, not merely a weekly or monthly social function. Thus we
must always strive to make our lives consistent with our pro-
claimed beliefs. In a time when many people are looking for
something solid to hang on to in the midst of rapid technological
and cultural changes, Neopagan Druidism can offer a natural and
creative alternative to the repressive structures of mainstream
monotheism. But our alternative will not be seen as such unless
we can manage to make it a complete lifestyle -- one with con-
cern, if not always immediate answers, for the problems of every-
day life, as well as the grand cosmic questions.

Obviously, there's a great deal more to Neopaganism in general
and our version of it in particular. The details of Neopagan
polytheology will take years to develop. The section of the
"Druid Handbook" dealing with beliefs will consist of statements
with commentaries (and even arguments) about the meanings of the
statements. The purpose of this format is multiple: to emphasise
that there are no final answers to the great questions of human
existence; to express clearly that Neopagans can disagree with
each other about subtle details of interpretation, while still
remaining members of the same religion; and to allow the belief
system to grow and adapt to changing cultural and technological
needs. Neopagan Druidism is to be a religion of the future, as
well as of the present and the past.

What Is The Single Most Important And Positive Thing That Differentiates Mormonism From Mainstream Christianity In The

What Is The Single Most Important And Positive Thing That Differentiates Mormonism From Mainstream Christianity In The
*

This 'dyadic exaltation' aspect of Mormon theology increasingly seems like the key issue: the doctrine that while salvation is available to all (if they choose it), the "highest "theosis (state of divinity) is for a husband and wife (and their family) united in eternal marriage.

Therefore, marriage and family are "at the very heart "of God's plan for the salvation and exaltation of Man. *

There is essentially nothing Biblical to support this doctrine, and it was never known to be a feature of the historical and traditional Christian churches; nonetheless you can see that Christians seem independently to have 'discovered' something of the sort at various times and places. The fact that Joseph Smith made it explicit, and received revelations on this topic - is (for me) a compelling proof of, or reason for, the "necessity" for the Mormon Restoration of the Gospel - because without explicit revelation on this topic, the core necessity for marriage and family is simply "not strong enough" in other Christian churches to survive (even in principle) the long term destructive pressures being put onto marriage and family in modern secular societies.*

Why not strong enough? Because Catholics are tempted to retreat into celibacy as being (anyway) their highest form of spiritual life; while Protestants/ Evangelicals are tempted to retreat into the individuality of Grace (without any need for any particular earthly arrangements).

And all non-Mormon Christians regard marriage as 'merely' a temporary expedient of earthly and mortal life while will disappear in Heaven - thus, insofar as they develop an other-worldly and post-mortal perspective (as Christians should) - so mainstream Christians will tend to downgrade the importance of marriage and family.

Thus mainstream Christians are not doctrinally "compelled "to defend marriage and family. And M and have broken through, and the churches have given-way, and the enemy is pouring into the breach. *

Only Mormonism explains "why "marriage and family are of eternal significance - plenty of Christians "feel "that this is so, and that marriage and family are (somehow, potentially) of "primary and eternal" importance - but only Mormons can actually back this up with revelation incorporated into theology.*

My interpretation is their "either":

1". "It was intended (by God) that the early stage of Christianity was to be dominated by celibate ascetics (because he foresaw the effects of the collapse of Empire) - but this has changed in the Latter Days. Or else:2. That the necessary revelations about marriage and family were either lost or eliminated from the scriptural record - and were not, in the end, restored by the Reformation (as perhaps God hoped) due to an excessive and exclusive focus on the Bible, and the contingent but rooted Protestant misunderstanding that there was no other legitimate source of revelation (the falsehood that the Bible is sufficient, and uniquely sufficient; as well as necessary).

Therefore the Restoration of the Gospel by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints became "necessary - "to complete the unfinished work of the Reformation, and to correct the deformities which had arisen in consequence.*

Of course there is a lot more to Mormonism than that - but as things stand in the West this is probably the single most important and most relevant thing. Whether the CJCLDS can continue to withstand the sustained and increasingly aggressive attack on its core doctrines by modern secular Leftism is another matter - but at least they "are "core doctrines for the LDS, so things are set up as well as they could be.

As always, it is up to "people" to be courageous and discerning.

A Bit Of That Ole New Moon Magic

A Bit Of That Ole New Moon Magic
It is the New Moon...so what to do with that New Moon energy?

The New Moon always makes me feel full of anticipation, of expectation for all the wonderful things that are waiting to happen.

It is dark but soon the Moon will start to peep out from the sky bringing with her energy, growth, fresh and new ideas all with the excitement and anticipation those things bring with them.

Some magical ideas for working on the New Moon:

If you have collected some seeds from your garden use these - take one seed for each new idea or project you have and whilst holding the seed visualise that idea or plan coming together - then plant the seed.

Using a white candle dressed with an oil of your choice, charge it with the intent of your new project, then light the candle every evening for a short time until the Full Moon is upon us.

Using a silver or white cord or ribbon visualise your goal then tie three knots in it, saying out loud your intent with each knot you tie. Keep the cord on your altar or hang it in your garden until the next New Moon then untie the knots and cleanse the cord so that you can use it again.

And the simplest one of all? Go outside and make a wish on the New Moon.

Colours of the New Moon:

White, Cream, pastel colours

Incense of the New Moon:

Damiana, lemongrass, lavender, jasmine, rose, sandalwood, myrrh, sweetgrass

Magic on the New Moon is all about fresh plans, new projects, wishes and getting things underway. Use the energy to get things in motion, but also make sure to ask for some energy to keep the project going so that it doesn't fade out. It is also a good time to get rid of bad habits and replace them with good ones. A good time to start healthy eating too.

To make your own Moon water:

You can make your own blessed water charged with the energy of the Moon, it has powerful healing benefits:

Put a crystal quartz in a glass and fill it up with spring water.

Place the glass outside at sunset (cover the top)

In the morning bring the glass in, it is now charged with the energy of the Moon!

Drink the water to absorb the energy or use in in spell work.

You can also charge crystals with the energy of the New Moon by leaving them out overnight too.

So gather everything together, get organised and make those plans!

Cicero On The Jews

Cicero On The Jews
Marcus Tullius Cicero is one of the best known and most admired of all figures in Roman history and long has been the idol of major intellectual figures in world history such as John Calvin. (1) He also has the honour to have written one of the most quoted paragraphs in the history of anti-Judaism and anti-Semitism, which appears in his defence speech of the former governor of Asia; Lucius Valerius Flaccus, who stood accused of corruption charges and one of the specific charges was that Flaccus had prevented the jews of his province sending the tribute due to the temple of Jerusalem and diverted that money instead into his own treasury.

The intellectual tendency in dealing with this charge has historically been to claim that Cicero was merely using invective and rhetoric to get his client cleared off the charges. This is; of course, possible and indeed we can see the idea that Cicero's use of rhetorical and oratorial gesture; as pointed out by Marshall, (2) supports this to an extent. However to make such an; often implicit, argument is to assume that the use of rhetorical and oratorial gesture as well as the art of rhetoric itself makes a charge false, incorrect or exaggerated.

This is obviously problematic as it assumes that the art of rhetoric and gesture is the art of lying, which is not so but rather it is simply the art of best representing your case to your audience. As such then Cicero is merely guilty of doing his best for his client and that we cannot blithely assume that he is making up the charges he levels at the jews.

What has not been generally remarked on; outside of academic treatises on the relations between jews and Romans, is that Cicero did not mention jews only once: he also mentions them in a speech he made to the trial of a noted friend of the jews; Aulus Gabinus, who had profited greatly from an arrangement with the newly conquered jews of Judea during his term in office. (3)

Cicero calls the jews a "'nation born to slavery' "and states that Gabinus' actions; usurping the established process of giving the job of taxing the provinces to up and coming Roman politicians and military men [as governance experience] and instead awarding it to the jews, were tantamount to treason to the Roman state.

To quote Cicero:

"'And as for the miserable tax collectors, (miserable man that I also am, when I see the miseries and suffering of those men who have deserved so well at my hands), he [Gabinus] handed them over as slaves to the Jews and Syrian nations: themselves born for slavery. He laid down as a rule from the very beginning, and he persevered in it, never to decide an action in favour a tax collector. He rescinded contracts that been made justly and he took away all the garrisons established for the their protection. He released many people required to pay tributes and taxes from such payments at whatever town he was living in or whatever town he arrived at and he forbade any tax collectors or they representatives to remain. Why need I enlarge on this? He would be considered a cruel man if he had shown such a disposition to our enemies, as he has shown towards Roman citizens. Especially towards those of the class which has hitherto always been maintained by its own dignity and the goodwill of the magistrates.' "(4)

We can thus see from the above that Cicero is showing a not inconsiderable hostility to the jews; as a people, in passing and we may point out that by extension that Cicero's claims that Gabinus was a
" 'glutton and robber'" (5) is based on the idea; later enunciated in his "'Pro Flacco'", that the jews corrupt Roman officials with their gold. (6) In" 'Pro Flacco'" Cicero even refers back to his charges against Gabinus when he states that because the jews (i.e. Gabinus and his jewish supporters) had been defeated the gods had been pleased as well as placated and that the tax collectors were once again allowed to go about their unpopular but necessary work.

Cicero's reference in "'Pro Flacco'" to the happiness of the gods at the defeat of the jews is reinforced by his point that his friend; Pompey the Great, had not touched the jewish temple or been infected by the ideas of Judaism as they were at odds with everything that the Roman Empire stood for and believed in. As Goodman observes this was quite correct: (7) as Judaism was the most extreme of all current barbarous faiths to the Romans with the only historical comparison being the vicious religion of Carthage. So dangerous were jews and Judaism considered that they were outlawed from becoming citizens during Cicero's time and for a while afterwards: (8) a view that Tacitus suggests was due to their wholly alien nature and religious intransigence. (9)

In essence Cicero was saying; in relation to Pompey, that any possible positive association with the jews was a significantly negative thing as the jews were classed as the lowest of the low by the Romans (ergo his comment about the jews being a" 'nation of slaves'").

This is both due to the fact that large numbers of jews had recently been sold in Rome as slaves and also because it was Cicero's own view. We know this because Cicero refers to the jews as active agents attacking senatorial and republican interests in Rome rather than just pawns of larger and more powerful interests. This is interestingly supported by Suetonius' assertion that the jews were very supportive of Julius Caesar (10) who Cicero was ideologically opposed to and regarded as a tyrant.

That Cicero saw the jews as a powerful interest group is suggested in" 'Pro Flacco' "when he asserts that the area chosen for the trial of Flaccus by the prosecution was chosen specifically so as to allow large demonstration by mobs of jews. (11) The problem with suggesting that this is a rhetorical trick is that in order for Cicero to have made the assertion: it had to be credible as otherwise its use was pointless. If the assertion was credible then there would have to be significant numbers of jews in Rome who were able (i.e. not slaves) to actively oppose a trial of this kind.

Further to this Cicero makes clear that he is making two points not one here: in so far as he states that the jews export gold out of Italy (and other provinces) to Jerusalem every year to pay their tithe to the temple in Jerusalem (i.e. enriching themselves at the cost of Rome). In doing so Cicero is telling us that jews had enough money to be able to do this (i.e. they were not slaves or among the poor) and there was a community of jews who were free and active proponents of their religion.

This is confirmed by a comment that Plutarch states Cicero made during his prosecution of Varres (lit. "'boar'" or" 'pig'"); the former Roman governor of Sicily, who was defended by a Roman aristocratic god-fearer; i.e. a gentile who had sworn allegiance to the jews in all things and abandoned the gods of his ancestors, named Cecilius. Plutarch tells us that Cicero opened his argument by making fun of his opponent by stating: "'What has a Jew to do with a pig?'" (12)

Cicero is here showing that he is aware that of the phenomenon of the god-fearers in Rome; as well as that they had some notable neophytes from among the highest echelons of Roman society, (13) as he calls Cecilius what he in effect is: a jew. If we understand that to Cicero: god-fearers were also to be counted jews then we can read Cicero's assertion of the" 'mobs of jews' "slightly differently. In that while large numbers of jews could possibly have been in Rome at the time; which this is traditionally used as evidence of, it is more likely that the jews Cicero is referring to is far less to do with actual jews and more to do with the numerous god-fearers. (14)

If we make the reasonable assumption that Cicero's assertion about the location of Flaccus' trial in relation to mobs of jews has some basis in fact; as otherwise why assert it in the first place, then we can suggest that nearby there would have been a significant amount of god-fearers and in all probability a smaller amount of jews. This means in effect that what Cicero was talking about was the local jews whipping up their sworn followers into mobs and going; as many would have likely been Roman citizens, to the locale of trial to influence the verdict against Flaccus.

This then makes sense of Cicero's assertion (as it tells us why he mentioned it and also why it was plausible to the listeners) as well as his known strongly pejorative comments against the jews in so far as Cicero even went as far in "'Pro Flacco'" as to call the jews:" 'our enemies'". Or put more simply: the eternal enemies of the Roman people.

We may further note that Cicero's teacher was the anti-jewish Greek thinker Apollonius Molon: who wrote a whole treatise; which has sadly been lost, attacking the jews and had had a lot of experience with them on his home island of Rhodes. If we understand that Molon almost certainly taught the young Cicero about the jews and then Cicero; in the course of his public life and pro-republican advocacy, came into contact with jews doing precisely the same things his old teacher had described then his reaction would have been both as strong and as brutal as it seems to have been.

In essence Cicero took no prisoners when it came to jews and took every reasonable opportunity to attack the jews when chance presented itself and his anti-jewish comments in" 'Pro Flacco' "should not read as a purely rhetorical exercise, but rather as an expression of fundamental beliefs that Cicero held about jews.

Or put simply: Cicero didn't like the jews or Judaism one bit.

Wiccan Wonder Beltane Continued

Wiccan Wonder Beltane Continued
HEY GUYS! I thought Id write this blog as kind of a little rant, nothing negative really because I try to be glass half full as much as possible but its more my disappointment then anger I feel, and also wanted to do this post because my Beltane has pretty much continued through to today and iv been on what I call a Wiccan Wonder or walk around the mountain area where i live and also to the local grave yard near to my house, its just basically a few houses away from my house actually, its a beautiful place as you will see from pictures i have taken. But basically what a Wiccan Wonder is about is going out in nature and really taking some time to just relax listen to the calmness and sounds of nature and also opening yourself up to allow items around you to become drawn to you and when you find yourself drawn to a certain pretty stone or flower etc you go, pick it up and take it with you, after giving thanks of course, and dont feel silly for going and picking up the item, there is always a reason for you being drawn to this you could feel once you have picked it up that that is all your meant to do with it and then place it back down or (like I have today) feel like this item has to go with you. NOW BEFORE I CARRY ON FURTHER I JUST WANT TO SAY FOR SOME PEOPLE WHO FEEL THAT IF YOU VISIT GRAVE YARDS WHEN YOUR WICCAN OR HAVE AN ITEM FROM A GRAVE YARD IT MUST MEAN YOUR INTO DARK MAGIC IS NONSENSE, IM NOT SAYING IT CANT BE USED FOR BAD BUT WHAT IM SAYING IS IF YOUR HEART AND MIND IS GOOD THEN YOU GIVE OFF GOOD ENERGY AND THEREFORE ATTRACT GOOD ENERGY AROUND YOU, SO GOING INTO A GRAVE YARD IF YOU HAVE GOOD INTENTIONS IN YOUR HEART AND MIND AND ARE GIVING OUT THE ENERGY OF THIS THEN WHAT YOU ARE DRAWN TO ALSO HAS GOOD ENERGY SO THERE IS NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT MAYBE BRINGING A BAD ITEM INTO YOUR HOME OR BE SCARED OF ANYTHING TO DO WITH A GRAVE YARD, NOW ME PERSONALLY I BELIEVE YES THERE ARE AS MANY BAD SPIRITS AS THERE ARE GOOD BECAUSE I BELIEVE IF YOU ARE NEGATIVE DURING YOUR LIFETIME THEN WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE IN THE AFTERLIFE WHICH IS WHY WHEN I GO TO A GRAVE YARD IF IM WALKING ALONG AND PASS A CERTAIN GRAVE AND I FEEL WELCOMED TO GO AND SIT BY IT OR TOUCH THE STONE ITS BECAUSE THE ENERGY THAT SURROUNDS THAT GRAVE IS A POSITIVE ENERGY THIS PERSON WAS POSITIVE DURING THEIR LIFE AND ARE PROJECTING THAT IN DEATH, AND THE SAME GOES FOR THE NEGATIVITY IF I WALK PASSED A GRAVE THAT I FEEL LOOKS INTERESTING BUT I DONT PARTICULARLY FEEL I WANT TO GO NEAR THEN I KNOW ANY ITEM I MAY BE DRAWN TO FROM AROUND THAT GRAVE (I NEVER TAKE FROM ON THE ACTUAL GRAVE ITSELF ONLY FROM THE PATHWAYS PASSED THE GRAVES LIKE BLOWN PETALS OR FLOWER HEADS LEAVES FROM THE TREES OR STONES I MIGHT BE DRAWN TO ) THAT I MIGHT FEEL TO TAKE WITH ME IS ONLY GOING TO HAVE NEGATIVE ENERGY COMING FROM IT. SO I DONT FEAR GRAVE YARDS IN ANY WAY, I WOULD AT NIGHT BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE THATS WHEN I THINK ID FEEL THE NEGATIVE ENERGY MORE STRONGER BUT MORE BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE THAT BREAK IN AND HANG AROUND THERE AT NIGHT DRINKING ETC, THAT DONT HAVE GOOD INTENTIONS, IF YOU BREAK IN AT ALL EVEN WITH GOOD INTENTIONS STILL WRONG ANYWAY BECAUSE YOUR ALREADY DOING SOMETHING NEGATIVE BEFORE YOU'VE EVEN STARTED THE GOOD BUT ANYWAY LIKE MY GRANDMOTHER ALWAYS SAYS "ITS THE LIVING YOU HAVE TO FEAR NOT THE DEAD" But basically my disappointment is how poorly grave yards are treated (here anyway) I just had such a feeling of sadness when i came across some of the over grown graves in the older part of the grave yard, one even had a 30ft oak tree growing out of it and today was the worst i had ever seen it there was rubbish thrown in places, beautiful flowers just thrown in a skip and there are so many graves that stand empty of flowers because there are sadly no one of relation that visits the grave why dont the people who are in-charge of the up keep ( though after today im not sure there are any) just use these flowers and place them on empty graves instead of just dumping them in a skip, its been a while since i last visited this grave yard and it really saddened me to see how badly it had gotten in the older area of the grave yard which is awful as some of these grave stones are really a work of art especially the very old ones that are still standing I think the oldest one i seen today way 1901 but im sure theres earlier then that its just so sad. BUT ANYWAY LETS TALK ABOUT SOMETHING POSITIVE, TODAY HAS BEEN A VERY INTERESTING BORDERING ON STRANGE DAY FROM THE START AND IV BEEN PLANNING TO DO THIS WALK FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS AND WHEN I FIRST THOUGHT ABOUT IT I THEN PLANNED TO GO THE VERY NEXT DAY AND THAT NIGHT I ASKED MY ANSWER CARDS (KIND OF LIKE TAROT BUT LESS COMPLEX) IF I SHOULD GO ON MY WALK THE NEXT DAY, AND THE CARD THAT FELL FROM THE DECK WAS MISTAKE, SO OF COURSE I THEN ASKED WHY IT WOULD BE A MISTAKE AND THE CARDS THAT FELL WHERE VULNERABLE AND FAIR/GREY HAIRED MAN, SO I DIDNT GO THAT DAY, THEN THE WEATHER GOT VERY BAD SO LAST NIGHT DURING MY BELTANE RITUAL I ASKED FOR LOVELY SUNSHINE TO RETURN SO I COULD GO ON MY WICCAN WONDER AND TODAY ITS BEEN SO STRANGE BECAUSE THIS MORNING THE WEATHER WAS LIKE ITS USUALLY BEEN AND I WASNT GOING TO GO BUT THEN I THOUGHT WELL ITS ALL NATURE NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER AND I SHOULD EXPERIENCE THESE WALKS IN DIFFERENT ELEMENTS SO I GOT READY TO GO, FILLED MY WICCAN WONDER BAG WITH LITTLE EMPTY SEALED BAGS FOR IF I COLLECTED ANYTHING AND AS SOON AS I WALKED OUT THE DOOR THE CLOUDS WENT AWAY AND THE SUN CAME OUT AND IT WAS ROASTING SO THATS ONE THING THAT HAPPENED TODAY. THEN AS I WAS ON MY WALKED THE AMOUNT OF ITEMS THAT I COLLECTED WAS UNBELIEVABLE, I WAS HOPING TO COLLECT ITEMS THAT I COULD FURTHER DECORATE MY ALTAR FOR BELTANE WITH AND ALSO TO FIND SOME FLOWERS TOP UP MY JARS OF DRIED FLOWERS THAT I USE TO MAKE INCENSE AND OILS AS IV BEEN RUNNING VERY LOW ESPECIALLY ROSE PETALS AND USUALLY WHEN I GO TO THE GRAVE YARD THERES THE ODD ONE OR TWO PETALS LYING AROUND THATS BLOWN ONTO THE ROAD DURING BAD WEATHER SO I NORMALLY ONLY COME BACK WITH A COUPLE, WELL ALSO DURING MY RITUAL I ALSO ASKED FOR THE MEANS TO GATHER MORE FOR MY MAGICAL WORKINGS AND TO AID ME WITH MY CRAFTS AND ALSO I ASKED IF POSSIBLE COULD I BE SHOWN THE EXISTENCE OF FAIRY MAGIC, NOW I ASKED THIS BECAUSE BELTANE IS OF COURSE THE START OF THE SUMMER SEASON AND ON THE NIGHT OF BELTANE IT IS BELIEVED THAT THIS IS THE NIGHT WHERE ALL FAIRIES COME OUT TO HELP THE START OF SUMMER HELPING NEW FLOWERS TO BEGIN BLOOMING ETC SO THAT IS THE REASON I ASKED THAT QUESTION WHAT BETTER TIME TO ASK FOR PROOF OF FAIRY MAGIC THEN ON BELTANE, AND THESE ARE THE ONLY QUESTIONS I ASKED I ONLY ASK 3 AND FOR EACH THREE I GIVE AN OFFERING IN THANKS, AND HERE ARE MY RESULTS......... Question one - For lovely sunshine to return >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> QUESTION TWO- FOR THE MEANS TO GATHER MORE TO AID ME IN MY CRAFTS.

December Roads Lead To Summer Of Hell

December Roads Lead To Summer Of Hell
Many people are anticipating what has been coined a "summer of hell" this year. In a few short weeks, it is thought that both the prophesied Antichrist and the Two Witnesses may appear on the world stage to begin to fulfill their destinies.Of course, this would mean a quickening on world events (war, death, destruction, etc.) to coincide with the beginning of the Tribulation. Who knew that some roads we travelled down together back in December would eventually lead us to the edge of the summer of hell where we now stand. With all the buzz surrounding President Barack Hussein Obama's speech and trip to Egypt I went back through my Archives (over 600 entries since August 2008!) to see if there was anything of relevance or substance I can use here today.Sure enough! Leave it to the good Lord to lead me to a few things I had completely forgotten about! Back in December 2008, I wrote a 2-part series called "The Antichrist's Checkmate?" which explored the notion that was just beginning to emerge at the time that President Obama was either THE prophesied Antichrist or at least a forerunner.Coincidentally (or is it?), that was the series responsible for putting me on this journey documenting why the 2009 "Feast of Weeks" was somehow critically important to us students of prophecy (Pentecost Rapture?).Please read those columns here:THE ANTICHRIST'S CHECKMATE? (PART 1)THE ANTICHRIST'S CHECKMATE? (PART 2)As if that weren't wacky enough, in Part 1 I even noted how that same day was when Obama announced that he would be giving a "major speech" in a "Muslim capital" some time in the next few months. Now, here's the surreal part. At the time, no one knew where he was going to give this speech from because we were told it hadn't been decided yet (back then we were told it was going to be from a "Muslim capital" and that's all we knew), but a few sentences down in my column I also noted how -- get this -- Obama's comments came just days after WND REPORTED AN EGYPTIAN CLERIC BROADCAST ON STATE-FUNDED TELEVISION A PLEA URGING OBAMA TO CONVERT TO ISLAM WHILE CLAIMING THE PRESIDENT-ELECT HAS ROOTS IN ISLAM.Are you kidding me? No! Here's what that cleric said at the time:"You, Obama, are among those who have pledged before Allah -- Allah who created you, sustained you, and brought you to this position -- to be a Muslim who believes that Allah is the one God, especially since you have some kind of roots in Islam. Convert to Islam, and you will be saved. All glory and honor lie in following Allah and his messenger, Muhammad. Know that the true religion is the religion of Islam, and all other religions are fabricated religions, which are null and void -- religions that were abrogated by the Shariah of Muhammad."Lastly, I also noted in that column that IN AN UNPRECEDENTED MOVE (EVEN IF IT'S ONLY SYMBOLIC GIVEN THE FACT THAT WE ALL KNOW THAT ISRAEL CAN DEFEND HERSELF WITH HER OWN NUCLEAR ARSENAL), THIS NEWS REPORT SAYS THAT OBAMA'S ADMINISTRATION WILL OFFER ISRAEL A "NUCLEAR UMBRELLA" against the threat of a nuclear attack by Iran (or any other nation?). Thus, the U.S. will declare that an attack on Israel by Tehran (or any other nation?) would result in a devastating U.S. nuclear response against Iran (again, or any other nation?).Fast forward to today and despite the chilling that has occurred between the U.S. and Israel diplomatically in recent weeks, one has to wonder if that's merely the "dog-and-pony-show" for the world to see (the Muslim World in particular) while behind closed doors the reality is that this is precisely the response that a nation would meet from the U.S. were they to attack our only legitimate ally in the Middle East.Let me quickly review for you:> The time of this article's publication was around the same time rumors of "Antichrist" were starting to be whispered with greater frequency concerning our new President.> This series of articles (as you'll soon see) was directly responsible -- no, it was THE CATALYST -- that set me on a course to examine the importance and relevance of the 2009 "Feast of Weeks" (Shavuot/Pentecost season), which we're now fiercly debating in this forum.> At the time of this article's publication, the new administration gave NO CLUES as to what "Muslim capital" this "major speech" would be conducted from.> Incredibly, JUST A FEW DAYS PRIOR to the administration's announcement there's an EGYPTIAN cleric (a cleric from the SAME PLACE where Obama ended up giving this speech from) who gives a public plea "urging" Obama to convert to Islam and acknowledge his Muslim roots. Even more remarkable, is the fact that during his speech yesterday, the President -- for the first time -- publicly acknowledged and even embraced his Muslim roots! Was the plea to convert answered?> Interesting to find THIS REPORT from Ken Welch regarding his latest research into the Reverse Speech Analysis phenomenon because if true it would substantiate the entire scenario laid out back in December regarding the U.S. response in the event of an attack on Israel! What are the odds of all of this and what does this mean? Hindsight is supposed to be 20/20, right? Ok, so let's look at this together and figure out what it was that PERHAPS God was trying to warn us about way back then nearly 6 months ago. At the very least, isn't it safe to say that MAYBE He was trying to at least get our attention so that we'd pay attention to this man and what was going on around him at the time, which would one day have future prophetic significance? I'm beginning to think so.Take a look at what I wrote back then word-for-word:"I look at these headlines and I feel a stirring in my soul that something is not right. Sure, the secularists will brand me a kook and a wacko for trying to paint 'peaceful' solutions to the world's problems as being a harbinger of doom, and that's fine. I just have this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that impending doom -- the likes of which we've NEVER seen before simply due to the spiritual element -- is exactly what the world should expect to see in the very near future."Yikes! At this point, rather than go on and on by reviewing every jot and tittle from those columns I will instead ask you to please go directly to PART 2 of that original series and read about A SOBERING REVELATION when you approach a popular verse LITERALLY (and logically) using both a simple, childlike faith as well as what's thought to be the oldest, or one of the oldest and most accurate translations of the Old Testament -- the Septuagint version. Coincidentally (or is it?), the term "Septuagint" means "seventy" in Latin, and the text is so named to the credit of the 70 Jewish scholars credited with translating it.Afterwards, please come back to share your thoughts. Me? I'm beginning to think WAR is in our immediate future as in the Psalm 83 War followed soon after by the Gog-Magog War perhaps. That's interesting too because if President Obama really is the prophesied man of sin, then we should expect to see war, war, war any day now in accordance with God's prophecies, His perfect timing, and His perfect will.If nothing else (and you don't reach the same conclusions), at least you'll get a better understanding of what it was that began this who "Shavuot/Pentecost season is somehow important this year!" idea that has captivated me since January. As you proceed, please recall the following verses from Scripture before continuing on with this study today:JOHN 16:12 -- "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.You need the Spirit of truth to find truth."JEREMIAH 29:13 -- "You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."To discover the truth requires real effort. As I've said for a long time now, you have to really want it. Why have I said this? Because the Bible said it first.PROVERBS 2:23 -- "Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God."What does Revelation tell us about the sequence of events? This is what I believe from my readings and studies:REVELATION 2-3: Jesus speaks to the ChurchesREVELATION 4: RaptureREVELATION 5: Redeemed in HeavenREVELATION 6: WAR, death, famine (the Antichrist WAR COVENANT AGAINST ISRAEL)No, the Lord has not given me any prophetic words because I'm not a prophet. I'm also not an ordained minister or even a pastor with a Theological Degree from some Seminary School. All I am is a young man who loves his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ so much that he's watching, waiting, praying, and expecting His soon return. These are my observations of what I see as being prophetically relevant and significant. As I've said before, the veil is being lifted at this moment in time for this specific purpose. The question is whether or not we will be receptive to the truth. We are staring into the mouth of the Tribulation, and so much so that it could start today. Once the Restrainer is removed all hell breaks loose here on Earth. Will you be ready?I encourage anyone reading this who is still skeptical to take some time to prayerfully consider what the Lord is trying to tell us with these new insights that are undoubtedly Biblically sound. Then, make sure you forward this information to all of your family members and friends. Perhaps even print off some copies for strangers too. Ask them to also do the same. It might help those left behind fill in the blanks and better understand what's going on all around them.LUKE 21:28 -- "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near."Lately, I don't know, I just feel like so many of us are all so close to the truth if we haven't already been blessed with spiritual discernment and wisdom yet. Channeling Spirit

Channeling Spirit
Author: Lisa MooreEveryone can and has Channeled, at some time in their lives. If you have ever found yourself explaining something in detail but the words you are using do not fitwith in with your own vocabulary. Writers and Artists often speak of not knowing where their inspiration comes from. If you have a problem and do not know which way to turn then all of a sudden you get a 'brainwave' and the answer to your problem is suddenly very clear. These are all examples of Channeling. As I have already stated, above, most people have channeled at some point in time. However, Channeling is a skill that can be learned. It does not require a life-time of psychic abilitites, or to be 'Spiritually Enlightened'. But you do need to be patient and also very determined to make the connection. There are two types of Channeling: Conscious Channeling and Trance Channeling. In this article I will stay with Conscious Channeling - which is when you are aware of what you are being told. To Channel you need to achieve an expanded state of consciousness (become open to the higher realms) which allows you to connect with your higher self or high-level guide. You need to learn how to raise your vibration to hear, see or sense these higher realms(*). "Just as a side note, your Guides or Higher Self step down their vibration to level with yours - just in case you thought the connection was all effort on your part"Scientists have tried to disprove the existence of channeling, as well as all other types of paranormal phenomena only for them to then admit that 'something else' must be going on that they cannot explain.People who have started to channel, very quickly seem to realise that they are changing. They have admitted to having more compassion for others. They can see the larger picture and perceive the world in a positive way. They have achieved more properity because of the changes they made in their lives. They have different attitudes, they now know their purpose in life. They put a high level of trust in the messages they receive, because they know the messages are from their guide (**) and for their ultimate benefit. These messages are sent to help find your higher direction as well as helping you achieve it. Your life will take on more purpose, more meaning, you will know in what direction you should be moving. You will become the person you are meant to be - the real you. Instead of swimming against the tide you will feel like you are flowing gently with the current. Many people are driven to learn about Channeling. Sometimes events happen that cannot be explained rationally, such as a strong sense of recognition of a place never seen before. A dream that comes true. An out-of-body experience or a lucid dream perhaps. Perhaps books start coming you way, you meet someone new and your whole view of reality starts to shift. Many people that have studied Yoga or meditation suddenly find themselves drawn to additional learning in psychic abilitites. Some people have never even though about Guides and Channeling but happen upon a book or article and it all seems to fall into place. It just feels right.(*) They are called Higher Guides or Higher Self (they also have many other labels) but they are not Higher in the true sense of the word. They are around us all the time. They are called Higher because their vibration level is higher than ours.(**) With practice you will know/sense/feel whether the guide giving you the message is your guide or not. The message from 'your' guide will be in keeping with your development, in keeping with your own spiritual path. If the message does not 'feel' right then you go 'with your feelings' and ignore it.I have studied spiritual matter for many years and am continually learning more. I try and use my own personal experiences in my articles or experiences of very trusted sources. Enjoy. You can find more spiritual articles on: http://www.spiritual-web.com

I've never heard of Ray Buckland being shunned by the Wiccan community. Ya suppose this leader may be thinking of someone else? I have twice invited Ray Buckland to be a guest on my show. He is a gentleman of kindness, humor and deep knowledge.

The group leader refuses to touch the topic due to the fact that Buckland is shunned by the Wiccan community. Any ideas on what I can tell the men what they can do, which will still be respectful to their leader?

There Is Nothing In The Quran To Say That We Should Celebrate The Mawlid Or Birthday Of The Prophet Peace And

"PRAISE BE TO ALLAH, ALONE, AND PEACE AND BLESSINGS BE "

upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his companions, and whoever follows his guidance.

There is nothing in the Qur'an to say that we should celebrate the Mawlid or birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet himself (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not do this or command anyone to do it, either during his lifetime or after his death. Indeed, he told them not to exaggerate about him as the Christians had exaggerated about Jesus (upon whom be peace).

He said: "Do not exaggerate about me as the Christians exaggerated about the son of Maryam. I am only a slave, so say, 'The slave of Allah and His Messenger.'" (Reported by al-Bukhari). What has been reported is that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made the day of his birth a day of worship, which is different to celebration. He was asked about fasting on Mondays, and he said: "That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I was entrusted with the Mission or when I was first given Revelation." (Reported by Muslim, al-Nisaa'i and Abu Dawood).

Moreover, we know that the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them) were the people who loved the Prophet most. Was it reported that Abu Bakr, who was the closest of people to him and the one who loved him the most, celebrated the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? Was it reported that 'Umar, who ruled for twelve years, or 'Uthmaan, did this? Was it reported that 'Ali, his relative and foster son, did this?

Was it reported that any of the Sahaabah did this? No, by Allah! Is it because they were not aware of its importance, or did they not truly love the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? No one would say such a thing except one who has gone astray and is leading others astray.

Did any of the imams - Abu Haneefah, Maalik, al-Shaafi'i, Ahmad, al-Hasan al-Basri, Ibn Seereen - do this or command others to do it or say that it was good? By Allah, no! It was not even mentioned during the first and best three centuries. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said in a Sahih hadith:

"THE BEST OF MANKIND ARE MY GENERATION (OR MY CENTURY), THEN THOSE WHO COME AFTER THEM, THEN THOSE WHO COME AFTER THEM. THEN THERE WILL COME A PEOPLE WHO WILL NOT CARE IF THEIR TESTIMONY COMES BEFORE THEIR OATH OR VICE VERSA (I.E., THEY WILL NOT TAKE SUCH MATTER SERIOUSLY).

"(REPORTED BY AL-BUKHARI, MUSLIM AND AL-TIRMIDHI). "

The celebration of the Prophet's birthday appeared many centuries later, when many of the features of true religion had vanished and bid'ah had become widespread.

Some of them think that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) actually attends the mawlid celebration, so they stand up to greet and welcome him. This is a serious falsehood and a form of gross ignorance. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) will not come out of his grave, or contact anybody, or attend any gatherings.

"HE WILL REMAIN IN HIS GRAVE UNTIL THE DAY OF RESURRECTION, AND HIS SOUL IS IN THE HIGHEST 'ILLIYOON (IN PARADISE), WITH HIS LORD IN THE ABODE OF HONOUR, AS ALLAH SAYS IN SURAT AL-MU'MINOON (INTERPRETATION OF THE MEANING):"

"AFTER THAT, SURELY, YOU WILL DIE. THEN (AGAIN), SURELY, YOU WILL BE RESURRECTED ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION

"[al-Mu'minoon 23:15].

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I will be the first whose grave will be opened on the Day of Resurrection, and I will be the first to intercede and the first to be asked to intercede."

"MAY ALLAH BLESS HIM AND GRANT HIM PEACE. "

This ayah and ahaadeeth, and others that say the same thing, all indicate that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and everyone else who has died will only emerge from their graves on the Day of Resurrection. This is something on which all the Muslim scholars agree; there is no controversy here. Every Muslim should pay attention to these matters and be careful to avoid the innovations and illusions introduced with no authority from Allah by those who are ignorant. Allah is the One whom we ask for help, and in Him we put our trust. There is no power and no strength except with Him.

Thus this celebration became a sign of one's love for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? But can it be possible that the Sahaabah, the imams and the people of the best three centuries were unaware of it, and it was only those who came later who were aware of its importance?! What the Qur'an tells us is that love of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is demonstrated by following the guidance he brought. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Say (O Muhammad): 'If you (really) love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Say: 'Obey Allah and the Messenger.' But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers."

"[Aal 'Imraan 3:31-32]

The first ayah explains that love is just a claim, but the proof of sincerity is following what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) brought. The second ayah reaffirms the importance and necessity of obeying Allah and His Messenger. Hence Allah ended the ayah with a very stern warning in which those who refuse to obey are described as kaafirs, and Allah does not love the disbelievers. We ask Allah to keep us safe from that.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told us of the danger of not obeying him, and the danger of adding to what he brought. The celebration of Mawlid or his birthday is indeed an addition to what he brought - as all the scholars agree. He said: "The best of speech is the Book of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The most evil of things are those which are newly-invented (in religion), and every innovation is a going astray." (Reported by Muslim and al-Nisaa'i).

So it should be clear to anyone who has the slightest common sense, sincere desire for the truth and open-mindedness, that celebrating the birthday of the Prophet is not a part of Islam; it is an innovation, which Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) warned us against and told us to shun. A wise person should not be swayed by the fact that so many people all over the world do this.

"And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah's path. They follow nothing but conjectures, and they do nothing but lie." [al-An'aam 6:116]

We ask Allah to help us and all the Muslims to understand His religion and adhere to it, to bless us all by making us follow the Sunnah, and to protect us from bid'ah, for He is the Most Kind and Generous. May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad, and his family and companions.
